This was a project done with a good friend of mine as an entry to Cannes Lions' Young Lions Live Award. Our goal was to create an online platform to help re-balance the waste-starvation equation with United Nations' World Food Programme (UNWFP). My friend was the mastermind behind this idea, and I took initiative to film and execute our vision. Wasting less, consistently, is hard and sometimes, we do it unconsciously. We didn't want people to feel burdened or guilty about their waste, but we wanted to motivate people to make the small incremental changes to wasting less. By bringing people together in a community-driven platform, we believed that people can waste less by reflecting on their habits from the beginning: grocery shopping. With the Grocery Planning System, individuals are inspired to see how others are doing on their journey to waste less from smart meal preparations to effective storage strategies. #SmartShoppingGPS aims to reframe the ingrained perspective on food waste. We acknowledge the times when we fail, but we believe in continuous community support to tackle one of the world's greatest issues on food.
